If you are suffering from nail fungus or Onychomycosisa finding a toenail fungus treatment that works is something you may have to hunt around for. One of the reasons I created this blog is because I suffered with this condition for years until I finally found a successful treatment for toenail fungus that worked surprisingly well for me and still does.

Toenail fungus happens when fungi gets under your toenails and the skin underneath your nail. You can also get fingernail fungus but most often your toenails tend to be more at risk than your fingernails.

Toenail fungus symptoms include cracked or yellow toenails discolored, streaked, thickened, or spotted nails. Once your infection has cleared up, it’s advised to use daily measures to prevent it from coming back. Many of the first toenail fungus cures would work for me in the beginning but my yellow toenails eventually came back. Once I discovered what the real cause was I took daily precautions to keep it away and that is what worked.

Some of those daily measures are:

  • Make sure to apply powder to your dry feet or hands after you take a shower or bath. Dry skin and nails are less likely to become infected.
  • Wear sandals that allow your foot moisture to escape. Wearing tight toes is the biggest single reason why a fungal nail infection returns.
  • Before you go to bed, thoroughly wash and dry your feet and apply a topical treatment for toenail fungus.

    • You may need to use the topical medicine for up to 1 year. I know that seems like a long time but these are very powerful fungi and they can become dormant for a long time. By keeping your treatment ongoing it kills any stubborn fungus that wants to remain dormant for months or even up to a year.
